IT Systems Specialist (Entry Level) 2 Year FTC

We are proud to be working with a leading manufacturer based locally in Basildon, Essex. They are looking to implement new systems throughout the departments and are seeking an IT Systems Specialist (Entry Level) to help with this task on a 2 Year FTC. You will be working as a KTP associate and working alongside the University of Essex who are there for help and support.

The Role:

Our client is offering a unique and exciting opportunity to work on a project that aims to digitise, modernise, scale and expand the use of IT systems for their business operation and utilising data for insights and decision making.

The associate is expected to perform technical work related to the implementation of new systems, data migration and integration, as well as being involved in making decisions about IT modernisation, digital operations, and future systems for the business.

The project also includes a specific budget for training, personal development, and travel for the associate.

The Duties:

• Familiarisation with the current IT systems and operational workflows of the company.
• Use Power Products and other software, and eventually MS Dynamics ERP and CRM once in place, to develop reports and dashboards
• Performing a digital modernisation plan for the company.
• Designing a new IT business solution, including integration of business resources and previous historical data.
• In collaboration with senior teams, help source new IT systems and third-party vendor for digital transformation project.
• Help implement a new enterprise system and progressively migrate data and business operations onto it.
• Select and implement other specific modules needed (i.e. a laboratory management system, and a sample system).
• Liaising with the new IT system partner/installerIT Systems
• Point of contact for staff and IT support provider for company IT matters.
• General company IT maintenance / assistance including liaising with the company s Japanese office team.
• Provide assistance in the recruitment of technical staff.
• Embed technology and upskill company staff.
• Participate in industrial events or academic conferences and disseminate project outcomes to the wider community.

Key Requirements:

• BSc in Computer Science, Informatics, ICT Systems, Business Systems, or a similar discipline.
• Proficiency in database technology, with extensive experience in SQL and NoSQL for querying and data manipulation.
• Skilled in designing, implementing, and managing various database types including relational, document-oriented, key-value databases.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI.
• Prior knowledge or experience on business ERP/CRM management and design platforms (and desirable in the Microsoft Dynamics suite).
