Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Technician Apprentice with Intelligent Servers, a Computer Hardware Manufacturer based in Harrogate.

Job Description:

You will be a team player who is passionate about their work and wishes to further their computer hardware skills in the Enterprise IT Hardware industry. The main requirement for the role is that the candidate needs to have an underlying interest in Computers, Servers and Networking Hardware, with a strong desire to learn and understand Enterprise IT Hardware. Not only will you be part of a secure and growing business, you will also receive full training and support to ensure that you have all the skills you need to develop a career with us. Reporting to the Technical Team Managers, you will be supported through the Level 3 ‘IT Solutions Technician’ apprenticeship which aims to provide you with the skills to develop, implement and maintain complete IT solutions such as networks, operating systems and applications.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

• Testing, building and configuring computer equipment, predominantly Enterprise Class i.e Servers, Storage Arrays, Networking hardware and consumer grade hardware.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware problems.
• Locating stock in the warehouse.
• Establishing good working relationships with internal colleagues.
• Following the internal procedural documentation correctly.
• Ensuring all assigned tasks are actioned and completed in a timely manner.
• Adhering to and helping add to company’s strict quality standards.
• Progressing through the inhouse Technical Training Program.

Qualifications:

• 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Skills Required:

• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to use your own initiative
• Ability to work in a methodical and accurate manner
• At least five GCSEs grad A-C (9-4 on the new grading system)

Personal qualities:

• A keen interest in Enterprise IT hardware
• A positive attitude

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

• Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
• Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment, and monitoring of infrastructure components.
• Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
• Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
• Support the information systems needs for your business.
