Reed are recruiting for remote based ITT Subject Leads within Secondary to join an exciting training provider on full time, permanent basis. This is an extremely exciting time of growth as our client are looking to grow out their ITT team within the Secondary education space into 2024.

If you have knowledge within either Maths, Chemistry or Physics, we'd like to hear from you.

An essential requirement of this role is that you have not just mentored Initial Teacher Training Tutors but trained, delivered and provided guidance on this.

You can be based anywhere in the UK but it is a requirement that you are a driver and have access to your own car for occasional visits to Bristol, any time meeting up with your tutors and meetings with secondary schools.

All of the ITT curriculum is provided, you'll be required to bring your industry knowledge.

Duties:

Curriculum writing for your subject - this will continue throughout your role but will be a HUGE part of the role in the early days to ensure everything is ready for September 2024

Line manage a team of tutors who will then go and deliver the ITT framework

Work as part of a team of Subject Leaders to help build and shape the ITT offer alongside the Head of Secondary ITT

Design or deliver initial teacher training, drawing on your detailed subject knowledge, curricular expertise, field experience and deep knowledge of relevant research and frameworks

Contribute to existing long-term ITT curriculum plans

Develop a team of subject specialist Personal Tutors and Facilitators who deliver outstanding training to a national cohort of Secondary ITT trainees

Provide leadership and clear direction to the relevant the Personal Tutors and Facilitators, managing their job performance, attainment of KPIs, holidays, absences and other personnel matters

Ensure programme content, resources and delivery methods are aligned to current and future workplace needs, curriculum development and best teaching practices

Manage the retention and satisfaction of trainees, leading on support plans and reasonable adjustments

Lead on the pastoral support across the programme

About you:

Experience of Maths, Chemistry or Physics (teaching both key stage 3 and key stage 4)

Ability to write and update curriculum with any changes to it

Design and deliver initial teacher training

Ability to line manage and work well with a wide range of stakeholders
