Job Coach/Travel Trainer
Based at Glasshouse College, Stourbridge with regular
travel to Argent College, Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham.
Term Time Only
40 hours per week, 37 weeks per year
Salary: FTE £23,886 (Actual Salary pro rata £19,493) per annum

The College provides an innovative and diverse Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE) curriculum and our students benefit from an extensive range of education, health and care support in each college. Each core element of the educational cycle is designed to establish active and positive relationships with nature and the community through a holistic approach to human development. This supports three key stages: overcoming barriers to learning; becoming skilled and being ready to engage and give back to the community.
We are seeking to appoint a Job Coach/Travel Trainer to support our students attending both internal and external work placement opportunities to include responsibility for training in respect of travel arrangements to and from work placements.
In this role you will play an integral role in supporting placements, building relationships with employers and key staff within internal and external work placement organisations and will provide valuable support to students to ensure that they are able to access placements in order to further enhance their learning experience and employability.
You will work with students to role model the skills required for independent employment by way of experiential learning within the placement setting and help to equip students with the skills needed for sustainable employment through structured learning in the workplace.
Applicants must have:
- Experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and/ or learning disabilities
- Ideally have experience of working in an education or other public sector environment and possess a high degree of personal resilience and emotional and social intelligence.
- A full driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role.
- Cross-site working will be expected, which includes our satellite provision, Argent College based in the heart of Birmingham’s vibrant Jewellery Quarter.
