The Company:

My client is a UK-based multidisciplinary environmental consultancy firm, handling projects of all sizes. They have offices all over the UK and provide a range of services aimed at addressing environmental challenges and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The company operates in various sectors, including planning and development, waste management, water quality, ecology, and Air Quality. They are looking for a Junior Air Quality Consultant to join their team in Manchester!

The Role:

The successful candidate will be working as part of the Air Quality division, who specialise in comprehensive Air Quality assessments, emissions monitoring, and impact studies using advanced modelling and monitoring technologies. They provide services such as environmental impact assessments, health risk evaluations, and compliance support to ensure adherence to regulatory standards. They also develop mitigation strategies to reduce emissions and manager odours.

Role responsibilities:

• Using air dispersion modelling to monitor ambient air pollutants.
• Managing indoor and outdoor Air Quality monitoring campaigns.
• Undertaking air impact assessments for infrastructure and industrial placements.
• Preparation of factual and interpretative reports, including data analysis.
• Liaising with clients and designers.

The ideal candidate:

• Minimum 1 year experience as an Air Quality Consultant.
• Degree in a relevant subject including Environmental Science, Air Pollution and Control, Atmospheric Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• Excellent communication skills, detail-orientated, and enthusiastic.
• Proficient in handling large datasets in Excel.
• Commercial experience in numerical modelling of dispersion or monitoring of ambient air pollutants, is preferred.
• Full UK clean driver's license.
