Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious individual to join our Design team as an Assistant Apparel Designer to join our in-house “Own Brand” Design team at Footasylum’s Head Office in Rochdale. We are home to multiple brands across men’s, women’s, kid’s and accessories.
This role gives a great opportunity to the right candidate to work on Footasylum’s “own brands” such as Zavetti Canada, KWD, Alessandro Zavetti and many more, with excellent progression opportunities.
About You
The successful candidate should have a fashion / design related degree, with 2 years industry experience.
We are looking for an organised, self-motivator who can take ownership of their responsibilities whilst working closely with the rest of the design team.

Responsibilities
- Researching new emerging trends and High Street competitors, including comp shop trips and identifying key commercial trends.
- Travelling to UK stores and attending research trips for inspiration
- Collaborating with the Design Team in the development of Own Brand ranges through creating trend overviews and design collections.
- Demonstrating understanding of clear and concise technical CAD design specifications and displaying the ability to create these within specified time frames.
- Creating designs, technical packs and mood boards using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Independently completing smaller design briefs with guidance from Designers.
- Possessing a good understanding of children’s safety standard guidelines and feeding this back to the team.
- Working with factories overseas and building good working relationships.
- Managing visual overviews of the critical path to show ordered & development styles.
- Supporting the wider design team with ad-hoc tasks.
- Supporting the senior design team with preparation for production and development trips.
Skills and Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in the high street fashion industry with a relevant portfolio to support this
- A desire to learn and develop your skills
- The ability to adapt and react quickly to changing demands and priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
