Our lovely client has been working for many decades in partnership with some of the world’s most recognised brands and events.  Their services include a wide range of expertise for their clients from designing and manufacturing creative products for corporate requirements, to selling at live events and also includes devising licensing programmes as well as running online and in-person shops.  Their clients too are across a variety of industries including sport, entertainment, corporate, film and charities.
 
This year the company is launching some high-profile retail operations focussing on toys and gifts.  To support this they are now seeking a Junior Buyer and Merchandiser for their team (preferably with experience within these sectors), who they would want to be part of this growing company and show a passion for this exciting new challenge.
 
Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, the Junior Buyer and Merchandiser will play an integral part in the selection, purchasing, and presentation of toy products for retail. Responsibilities will involve working with suppliers, researching and understanding market trends, and contributing to the overall merchandise strategy.  This is a very hands on role where as they grow this division there will be opportunities for career progression
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Product selection and procurement through research, managing and negotiating with suppliers and raising purchase orders
- Inventory management and planning
- Merchandising and visual presentation
- Supplier relationship management including negotiating
- Communication and coordination across departments including marketing and logistics
Skills Required:
· At least 2 years experience in retail buying, eCommerce, merchandising, or product management preferentially within toys and gifts
· A can do attitude to be very hands on including research, raising purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers etc
· Passion for retail products, especially toys and gifts
· Well organised and proficient in Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, and inventory management systems and experience to work with various eCommerce platforms.
· Creative thinking and an eye for visual merchandising.
· Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work in a fast-paced environment.
