Job Description:
We are seeking a Junior Civil Engineer/Assistant Site Manager to join our clients team for a development project in Haughton Regis. As the Assistant Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various aspects of the site, focusing on non-construction areas and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Site Wide Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an annual maintenance plan for non-construction areas, including grass cutting, tree/hedge maintenance, and fly-tipping inspections.
- Manage contractors for planned maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to the maintenance plan and budget constraints.
- Conduct regular inspections of fencing, gates, and public rights of way to ensure security and accessibility.
- Liaise with local authorities and relevant officers to maintain public rights of way and address any issues or legal requirements.
- Source contractors for minor works, obtaining competitive quotes and ensuring compliance with business plan budgets.
- Lead and manage security personnel, overseeing access control and welfare arrangements.
- Coordinate with external consultants and agencies for site-wide surveys and inspections.
- Maintain comprehensive records of site issues, actions taken, and agreements with stakeholders.
HB Coordination:
- Host coordination meetings with housebuilders and maintain records of discussions and actions.
- Manage the permit system for buyer works and ensure compliance with site rules and regulations.
- Monitor housebuilders' activities to ensure compliance with sweeping arrangements, approved works, and access agreements.
- Conduct precondition surveys and coordinate repairs of damages to infrastructure.
- Review and propose changes to access and logistics arrangements as needed.
Clerks of Works Handover Requirements:
- Oversee inspections and sign-offs of housebuilder constructed infrastructure.
- Report directly to the Senior Construction Manager and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections and observations, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
Land Trust Handovers:
- Manage the handover process from contractors to the Land Trust, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and provided.
- Coordinate with the landscaping supervisor to certify soft/hard landscaping works.
Construction Work Management:
- Lead and manage final footway surfacing works, coordinating snagging and rectification activities.
- Organize and manage road safety audits and remedial works as needed.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
Civil Engineering degree is a distinct advantage
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and best practices.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Relevant qualifications in construction management or related field preferred.
