Overview:
As a Junior Counsel on the FAIR team you will have a unique opportunity to examine Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs) for a variety of client’s interests in alternative asset classes. This person will be in charge of extracting key legal information as part of the FAIR onboarding process around key dates and fee structures outlined in a LPA and liaise with the Preqin Legal Insights team when particular complex structures are identified.

Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
  • Review legal documents for completeness and update the FAIR Onboarding team if any are missing or incomplete
  • Extract key dates and information from a variety of legal documents, including LPAs, side letters, and audited financial statements
  • Work alongside the FAIR onboarding team to plan and monitor the legal extraction process of FAIR onboarding
  • Escalate complex fee structure to the senior members of the FAIR team and/ or the Legal Insights Team as appropriate
Qualifications:
You are a good fit if you are:
  • Meticulous when it comes to applying consistent methodology in data review and extraction
  • Detailed-orientated and able to efficiently identify key information and nuances within legal language
  • A self-starter who enjoys managing their daily work while meeting KPIs and supporting the overall operations of the FAIR team
  • Familiar with limited partnership agreements and/ or other legal contracts. While not required, experience within Private Equity industry is preferred
  • A team player who wants to develop project management skills and work alongside financial professionals in both the UK and US
  • Someone who has 2-4 years of experience in contract law or a similar field
