The Client
A design and construction company with offices in both the UK and overseas, they are involved in a number of high technology projects including Pharmaceutical / Clean Room, Energy from Waste, Research Facilities and Data Centres to name a few.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who would like to gain experience in a more specialist industry. No experience is required for their particular sector as full training and guidance would be provided.
The Role
* The role requires a good mechanical engineering project background with a hands-on approach and will include liaising with clients interpreting their requirements and providing bespoke solutions based on sound engineering principles, taking ownership for the execution and completion of the work.
* The work will be varied and will include being involved in the design of HVAC, ductwork and mechanical services as well as larger scale more specialist projects.
* The role will be based between home, site and office. Home working options are available.
The Ideal Candidate
* At least one years' experience in Building Services, as a Mechanical |(HVAC) Design Engineer.
* Able to do duct sizing, pipe sizing, heat loss / heat gain calculations, produce drawings in AutoCAD or Revit
* Assist in the development and detailed design of a multitude of Mechanical systems across varying built environment project sectors
* Working in close conjunction with Senior level Engineers to ensure design requirements are meeting set standards
* Interacting with clients to provide detailed design amendment updates, as development into role progresses
Requirements -
* Possess relevant degree or equivalent in order to undertake successful career within Building Services Engineering
* Able to display understanding of design, drawing principles - aware of calculation phase concept
* Solid understanding across Mechanical principles, building services and British standard regulation
* Building Services design background.
* The initial projects you will be involved in will predominantly Pharmaceutical so any experience in this sector, Clean Rooms etc would be advantageous although not a necessity. Experience within a High Technology industry would be useful although not a necessity. This can be any of the company’s core sectors or other areas such as Nuclear, Rail etc.
* Competent using Microsoft Office with AutoCAD experience, although training would be provided.
* Be able to work in a small team and have excellent communication skills.
* Have excellent attention to detail, as the industry you will be working in is subject to very high levels of regulatory control and scrutiny.
* Be able to adhere to all health and safety and company policy.
* A full driving licence is essential.
* Happy to travel to site, attend meetings and be client facing
