Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

Our client is an electrical contracting company dedicated to delivering high-quality electrical solutions to a diverse range of clients. Services include electrical installations, security system installation (CCTV), PAT testing, servicing and maintenance and more.

Due to the company expanding, they're looking to bring a Junior QS/Estimator into the fold.

This is an entry level position, but it is essential that the successful candidate has familiarity with electrical construction projects and industry standards.

Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

The Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in supporting the estimating and quantity surveying functions within the company. This role involves working closely with the senior estimating team and project managers to prepare accurate and competitive bids for electrical projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the measurement, pricing, and preparation of estimates, as well as managing project costs throughout the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities - Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

• Assist in the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects.
• Collaborate with senior estimators to analyse project requirements and specifications.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing for materials, labour, and equipment.
• Support the quantity surveying function by tracking and analysing project costs.
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, cost forecasts, and budget analysis.
• Work closely with project managers to monitor and control project expenditures.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation related to estimating and quantity surveying.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for accurate cost assessments.
• Assist in reviewing and negotiating subcontracts and purchase orders.

Key Requirements - Junior Estimator/Quantity Surveyor

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
