Job description

Mercury is not just a company; we’re a transformative force in the world of SaaS for recruitment and staffing firms. Since our founding in 2014, we’ve been at the forefront, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and innovation that has allowed us to create a ground breaking SaaS platform, based on the Microsoft D365 and the Power Platform.

With a global presence in strategic locations, including Coleshill, London, Boston, Chicago, and Sydney, we’ve expanded at an impressive pace, breaking into Australia in 2019 and the US in 2020. We are now a dynamic team of 140 employees, and we’re not stopping there – we’re on track to double in size over the next 24 months.

Mercury is all about our customers, with over 100 worldwide and 8,000+ users experiencing the transformative power of our solutions. We’ve seen remarkable growth in headcount, surging by over 125% in the last two years. As a dedicated SaaS innovator, we are here to simplify and enhance the operations of recruitment and staffing firms.

What you’ll do

  • Hands-On Development: Actively participate in Full Stack software development, focusing on enhancing and improving Mercury’s web portals and APIs, providing a hands-on role in the development life cycle.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work closely with a collaborative Agile team, including Developers, QA Analysts, and Product Owners, to deliver quality software increments and gain valuable experience in an Agile development environment.
  • Code Quality Support: Learn and contribute by conducting code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards, and gaining exposure to best practices for maintaining code quality.
  • Product Suite Familiarity: Build foundational knowledge of the Mercury product suite, contributing to both technical and functional aspects, and learn from experienced professionals in the development field.
  • Greenfield Project Exposure: Get the opportunity to work on exciting greenfield projects, including brand new portal products, to showcase and develop your technical skills and creativity in a supportive environment.

Who you are

  • Emerging Developer: With at least 1 year of experience, you have a foundational understanding of software development, particularly in C#, and a preference for Angular and/or Azure technologies.
  • Full Stack Aspirations: Express a desire to evolve into a Full Stack Developer, eager to broaden your skills across different layers of web development.
  • Agile Enthusiast: Having previously worked in an Agile environment, you’re comfortable and willing to actively participate in Agile SCRUM events, contributing to refinement, planning, and review processes.
  • Team Ethos Advocate: Enjoys a positive team ethos, values collaboration, and appreciates a work culture that encourages freedom and autonomy rather than strict micromanagement.

Desirable

  • Unit Testing Familiarity: Exposure and understanding of Unit Testing with MSTest or NUnit, as well as mocking techniques, would be beneficial but is not a strict requirement.
  • Source Control Proficiency: Knowledge of Source Control systems and branching strategies, particularly with TFVC and/or GIT, is desirable, but not essential for this role.
  • Additional Technical Exposure: Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Typescript, working knowledge of Cloud Technologies in Microsoft Azure, and exposure to collaborative tools like Azure DevOps or JIRA would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.

  • Great learning and development plan

  • Permanent Health Insurance (PHI)
