ROLE:

Junior Groundsman for the Hive London.

ABOUT THE FACILITY:

The Hive London is an internationally renowned stadium facility in North London. Home to National League football club Barnet FC and women’s team London Bees, the Hive London regularly hosts a plethora of visiting teams from across the world. The likes of England, Italy, Germany, Brazil and many more have all trained at the Hive London and have benefitted not only from our stadium pitch but also our Football Centre which is the largest of its kind in Europe. It boasts 9 large 5-a-side 5G football pitches and 3 full size 3G, 4G and 5G football pitches with a further 2 full size 5G football pitches under development. Other facilities include a gym, medical scanning centre TIC Health, 13 event spaces and even a Starbucks. The Hive London truly is one of a kind.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting directly to the Deputy Head Groundsman, the successful applicant will be expected to follow direction with regards to the upkeep of pitches and all site areas on a daily basis.

· Ensuring the grounds team provide first class playing surfaces and presentation of all pitches to the highest standard for matches and training schedules.

· Carrying out general grounds duties such as cutting grass, pitch watering, de-weeding, pitch marking and general matchday preparations.

· Ensuring machinery is maintained and serviced to an acceptable standard.

· Ensuring that all duties are carried out to a high standard.

· Ensuring irrigation systems are always working by implementing regular testing.

· Ensuring stadium matchdays run smoothly from a ground’s perspective - perimeter boards are all in place, warm-up goals are brought on the pitch and taken off the pitch at the right times, irrigation is running, playing surface is divotted at half time and pitch is prepped under the guidance of the Deputy Head Groundsman.

Groundskeeping or landscaping - 1 year minimum (preferred)

KEY INFORMATION:

JOB TYPE: Full-time.

SALARY: £24k per annum.

SCHEDULE: 5 days (45 hours) per week.

MONDAY 7:30am - 5:30pm

TUESDAY 7:30am - 5:30pm

WEDNESDAY 7:30am - 5:30pm

THURSDAY OFF

FRIDAY 7:30am - 5:30pm

SATURDAY 7:30am - 5:30pm

SUNDAY OFF

All shifts include up to three breaks per day, cumulatively 1 hour.

ANNUAL LEAVE: 30 days (includes bank holidays).

COMMUTE: Must live within a 1 hour commutable distance from the HA8 postcode area.
