One of the fastest-growing FinTech companies in the UK is seeking a Junior Information Security Analyst to join their team in Grantham.

This is a majority remote working role. The successful candidate will be required to visit the office 1-2 times each month in Grantham, Lincolnshire.

As a Junior Security Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the security and stability of their infrastructure. You'll be responsible for security monitoring, reporting on threats and vulnerabilities, and actively engaging in hands-on tasks involving Windows and Linux server management, network configuration, and infrastructure optimisation.

Junior Information Security Analyst - Key Responsibilities:

Security Monitoring:

Monitor and analyse security logs, detect potential threats, and promptly respond to security incidents.

Implement measures to enhance the security posture of our infrastructure.

Ensure clear, effective, and informative communication while addressing/raising inquiries and issues via the Security service desk.

Reporting:

Generate regular security reports, detailing incidents, vulnerabilities, and recommendations for improvements. Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.

Infrastructure Management:

Engage in hands-on work involving Windows Server management, Linux Server management, and network administration. Troubleshoot complex issues and optimise infrastructure performance.

Compliance and Best Practices:

Ensure compliance with security standards, implement best practices, and contribute to the development of security policies and procedures.

Incident Response:

Participate in incident response activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve security incidents, and conduct post-incident analysis.

Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive documentation related to security protocols, configurations, and procedures.

Junior Information Security Analyst - Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in Windows or Linux Server management, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus) and their implementation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNA, MCSA, RHCE) are advantageous.
  • Proven experience in security monitoring, incident response, and reporting within an infrastructure environment.
