About the Role:
This job is an exciting opportunity for Interior Designers who have 1-3 years of experience and are eager to continue to learn in a dynamic design studio environment. As a part of a cross-functional team, you will play a crucial role in delivering the best possible experience to our internal stakeholders and members, on time, on budget, and on brand. The ideal candidate should have a good balance between technical and creative skills and be able to focus on test fits and design documentation to support our active in-house teams and sales demand. This position is perfect for an architecturally-minded designer who is highly efficient, solution-oriented, and proficient in Revit, Enscape, and Photoshop. It is essential to have a firm grasp of spatial reasoning and ‘Design Thinking’.
Responsibilities:
- Be a key member of a collaborative WeWork Physical Product Team
- Effectively produce and/or coordinate design deliverables with a focus on test fits, design concepts and design development to support incoming sales requests, and ensure quality sign-offs by Studio leadership
- Reporting to the Design Pod Manager, you will coordinate every design milestone to ensure design intent is comprehensive, ready for execution, and aligns with project briefs
- Determine and organize functional requirements, providing high-level programming, space planning, and code analysis
- Ensure design deliverables adhere to product standards and the latest brand ethos. Assurance of policies and procedures for design, documentation, and project management
- Communicate project updates regularly to management and cross-functional teams such as the status of each project, potential issues, risks, etc.
- Contribute to internal and external team meetings as needed, providing concise and actionable agendas and communication
- Contribute to the production of design guidelines capturing the latest standards that will be distributed across the internal and external stakeholders.
- Reviewing consultants’ construction documents to ensure they are aligned with WeWork expectations
Technical Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in architecture or interior design from an accredited university or equivalent practical experience
- 1-3 years of professional design, construction, or operation in high-quality commercial or hospitality projects. Mixed-use residential, cultural, and institutional experiences also will be considered
- Proficient in the following programs: BIM (Revit), Enscape, Photoshop, all things Google, and Bluebeam Revu
- Unparalleled design and space planning acumen.
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and incorporate metrics and data into design solutions
- Knowledge of construction industry best practices, building and accessibility codes
- Exceptional at joinery design with a great understanding of critical FF&E principles and dimensions
- Having a good understanding of construction materials, a keen eye for finishes, and an ability to use colour combinations effectively.
- Possessing good spatial perception and sensitivity towards lighting requirements in each space
- Passionate and curious about the built environment. Maintain a desire for knowledge about all aspects of what we do at WeWork and look for ways to contribute your knowledge and learn from others.
