This is an ideal position for someone with an A-Level (or equivalent), Vocational qualification or some experience in Computer Science / IT Support. The ideal candidate will have an interest and understanding of IT infrastructure, the ability to logically work through a problem, and an eagerness to learn new skills. On the job training will be provided ranging from basic end-user support to managing Virtual Servers and administering users in AD and Azure.
Responsibilities:
· Provide remote and onsite technical support
· Ensure all support tickets are logged with regular progress notes
· Keep the end-user regularly updated with issue resolution progress
· Work in collaboration with colleagues on major incident resolution
· Develop knowledge base by recording resolution
· Proactively identify potential problems and issues
· Complete daily routine to maintain IT infrastructure availability
· Provide hardware installation support for users
· Administer user’s Office 365/Active Directory accounts
· Assist with the implementation and documentation of projects
Desirable Skills:
· Hardware and software troubleshooting skills within a Wintel environment
· Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Office 365 applications, iOS, VPN, basic networking, virtual machines
· Service, Maintenance and Installation of IT Equipment
· Ability to learn new skills to work with legacy systems
The job holder will need to be able to work under pressure and communicate effectively with people of all levels. The job holder also needs to be flexible and able to work as part of a team. Once competent in the role the job holder may be required to be part of a call out rota for support outside of normal working hours.
