Junior Logistics Specialist

Our client are a well established Heathrow freight forwarding agent who have an exciting new role available based out of their Slough Contract Logistics Centre for a Junior Logistics Specialist. The successful candidate will have good comms/customer service ability, strong IT skills (Word/Excel) and excellent verbal/written English together with a 5 year steady employment/education record/clear DBS check.

Purpose of Junior Logistics Specialist
Under the direction of Transport Manager, the Junior Logistics Specialist will be working as part of a busy European Transport and Distribution department where they offer international groupage services throughout Europe, utilizing Pallet Networks both in the UK and Europe as well as 3rd party partners & hauliers.
Duties for the Junior Logistics Specialist;

• Liaising with 3rd party European partners and hauliers on a frequent basis
• Briefing and debriefing drivers
• Liaising and communicating with pallet network hub points with other network members.
• Data input into the database system
• Resolving any Customer Service issues that may arise,
• Keeping all paperwork filling up to date and organized
• Accrual of files and posting of invoices and invoicing administration
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and experience for the Junior Logistics Specialist

• Good IT skills (MS Office package, Outlook etc.)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload for deadlines
• Excellent administration(attention to detail numeric and time sensitive) and communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Able to easily commute to Slough
