Job Title: Junior Mechanical Estimator

Area: Rochester

Salary: £25k - £30k

We are seeking Junior Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience within the mechanical sector and will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of accurate cost estimates for various mechanical projects. This role is crucial in supporting the estimation team to ensure competitive and profitable bid proposals.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems and components.
• Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid estimates.
• Gather, analyse, and adjust data related to labour, materials, equipment, and other factors affecting cost estimates.
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, project proposals, and other relevant documents.
• Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and summaries for review by senior estimators and management.
• Support communication with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and verify scope inclusions.
• Provide ongoing support and updates to senior estimators throughout the bidding and project development process.

The ideal candidate:

• Previous experience of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive and eager to learn with a positive attitude.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering /City and Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
