My Client is a Long-established international clothing manufacturer they are looking for a confident, Junior Menswear Designer, with work experience in a commercial role. This person will be based from the London office with some hybrid working considered, you would work closely with the Head of Design on Casual Menswear to creative commercial trend led ranges for the UK and International High Street.
Junior Menswear Designer – The Role
- Researching and identifying the latest key trends to inspire and develop new garments/ranges.
- Updating cribs and final sketches for the factory and the commercial team.
- Completing full tech packs and arranging swatch packs ensuring that selections are collated and edited in accordance with the customer brief.
- Liaising with fabric mills & internal fabric teams for sourcing samples
- Ordering fabrics, matching Pantones and chasing mills/factories to produce samples to meet deadlines Ensuring all samples and packs are ready in time to be couriered.
- Sending out new fabric briefs to suppliers and chasing in readiness for meetings and counter-sourcing fabrics and trims to price
- Dealing with incoming mail and parcels
- Updating prices crib with correct component information, ensuring accuracy for costings
Junior Menswear Designer – The Candidate
- A degree or qualifications relevant to design
- Previous experience of working as a Design Assistant or Junior Designer (Mens Casualwear experience preferred)
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills are essential
- Print Design experience preferred
- CLO 3D software experience preferred
- Product Development skills
- Strong technical and creative design skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills
- A confident, proactive approach capable of working effectively in a team under pressure in a demanding fast paced environment
