Junior Packaging Technologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a market leading manufacturer. 

They are looking to appoint an expert in all things packaging.

From building and developing all group packaging data to increasing that all important packaging industry knowledge.

You will be an excellent communicator who can build relationships easily with both internal and external stakeholders as well as a can do attitude which will allow the assessment of current packaging formats and their efficiency within our production facilities, recognising optimal specifications for all materials/substrates.

Driving forward innovation across all sites to ensure that we are at the forefront of new packaging technology.

Main Duties:

• Being part of an artwork approval process where coordaining and maintaining packaging cutters library is the key priority. Artwork responsibilities will also include uploading cutters and packaging information to numerous retailer’s artwork platforms.
• Attending packaging factory trial and assisting operational and NPD teams.
• Gathering generic packaging specification throughout all sites.
• Organising and creating packaging mock-up samples.
• Ensure we are aligned to the sustainability strategy for packaging and lead both our customers and suppliers on this journey.
• To actively seek solutions that meet environmental requirements.
• To create and build strong relationships with internal customers 
• Representing the company in a professional manner
• Other duties may be required to support the success of the broader Procurement department and business overall.
• Able to enjoy working within a fast-moving environment with change and high expectations

Requirements, Experience and Person Specification:

• Genuine interest in Packaging materials, pack formats and packaging equipment, and associated sustainability
• Packaging knowledge is welcome but not essential as full in-depth training will be given to the right candidate.
• Good IT and organisation skills
• Good communicator (written and verbal)
• Team player
• Able to handle multiple tasks
• Self-motivated & passionate
• Clean full driving license for travel between sites and to customers
• Willingness to work outside the standard office hours and flexibility
