This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for Junior PHP Web Developer who will play a major role with the technical design and development of the company’s technical offerings. The position is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications and services using PHP and related technologies.
Develop user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery or React.
Develop server-side logic and APIs using PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
Design and develop database schemas and queries using SQL databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Write unit tests and perform debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of the code.
Deploy applications to production environments and perform maintenance tasks such as monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Document design decisions, architecture diagrams, and technical specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to understand business requirements and provide technical guidance.
Troubleshooting existing applications.
Work with a team of designers and developers.
Stay abreast of web and related technologies to support institutional efforts
Provide technical support and guidance to web team
Create solutions for the backend systems to support millions of users.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Should have experience in PHP web development.
Strong experience with PHP and related technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony).
Experience with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN).
Developing database-driven web pages and applications (with authentication); PHP + (MySQL/MariaDB or Oracle).
Knowledge of OOPS is preferred.
Cross-browser compatibility: IE11, Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and mobile browsers.
