About The Role

RAC are on the lookout for a Junior Product Manager who will be part of our Acquisition squad – the group responsible for our main ecommerce journey.

This Junior Digital Product Manager is the entry level role into Product Management at the RAC. Some experience of working as a product owner will be beneficial as will any broader experience of defining and delivering digital product. Most important though is the right mix of willingness to learn, technical aptitude and a passion to deliver products that meet both customer and business needs.

This is hybrid role, working at least 2 days a week from our iconic Bradley Stoke office.

What you will do

In your time as an Associate Digital Product Manager you will develop the skills required to progress in a career in Product Management at the RAC. These include

  • Work with the Engineering and UX teams to define and elaborate epics and user stories.
  • Attending all scrum ceremonies as part of the agile methodology
  • Setting up and monitoring AB tests using Adobe Target
  • Set up and carry out user testing & monitor customer behaviour through Glassbox
  • Working with cross-functional teams to execute web optimisations that align to our commercial targets

What you will need

This role will suit a candidate with some experience as a product owner within an agile squad, or some involvement in the definition and delivery of digital products. Beyond this we are looking for four key characteristics.
Ability to learn quickly: We operate in a regulated business, using a number of different tools – we don’t expect anyone to have direct experience of every aspect of this role before they join, but we do need someone who can ramp up quickly.

Technical aptitude: You will be working day to day with engineers. You don’t need to write code, but you will need to demonstrate enough technical aptitude and understanding of software development processes and practices to collaborate with engineers and help them do great work.

Numerate : Improving commercial outcomes through A/B testing lies at the heart of this role. As a result you will need feel comfortable with the key statistical concepts (significance/ confidence levels) involved with this; and relish the challenge of working in a very data-driven organisation.

Strong communicator and collaborator: You will need to work with and earn the trust of a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders: good written and verbal communication skills are a must.

Experience of working in financial services, or any automotive related sector would be helpful, but not necessary: more important is the desire and ability to understand the needs of our business, and how to deliver customer experiences that help us achieve our goals.

In return, we offer

At the RAC, our colleagues do whatever it takes to help our customers. And we believe in rewarding you in return. As well as a competitive salary, there’s also an annual bonus scheme in place. Plus, you’ll have all these extra benefits:

  • Hybrid working
  • Group Life Assurance of up to 4 x salary
