Job description

Job Purpose

To research, design, develop, manufacture and test equipment for the pipeline market. Assist in the delivery of engineering projects by organising and controlling all project elements. A responsible and highly versatile function at the heart of their operational process.


About Our Client

Our Client manufactures and supplies a wide range of pipeline pigs and pipeline plugs to leading offshore and onshore companies throughout the world.

Their pig-supply scope covers all types of pipeline pigs; foam pigs, disc pigs, cup pigs and on to more complex articulated and multi-diameter designs, capable of running line lengths in excess of 900 km. In addition to pipeline pigs & plugs, new technology has been launched to identify, track & locate pipeline pigs during operations.

We have a focus on all areas of their products including concept feed and R&D, detailed design and engineering, manufacture, testing & project management. Their dynamic and fast-paced culture has ensured their market leading position and highly renowned brand.


The Role / Responsibilities and Duties

Primary contact for the client. Involved in the contract execution and fulfilment of the project.

Determine client and project specifications, objectives, schedule, and responsibilities, by reviewing client documentation, identifying customer requirements, conferring with the management team.

Manage suppliers and contractors to maintain project schedule by monitoring progress. coordinating activities and resolving problem.

Maintain financial diligence through the execution of budget and cost control to help meet projected targets and business results.

Evaluate systems and products by designing and conducting testing programmes and studying customer requirements. Supporting all departments within the company during the design & manufacture.

Prepare documentation, such as: design reports, test procedures, test reports and documents associated with the delivery of the project.

Support sales with the technical analysis of enquiries, evaluating major enquiries, supporting the technical offer, analysing project specifications, and designing the technical solution.

Ensure compliance to internal quality, health and safety procedures.


Key Skill Requirements

It is desirable for candidates to be Degree qualified in an engineering discipline (Mechanical OR Subsea related); however demonstrable industry experience is equally valid.

Previous experience in a technical role

Strong knowledge of mechanical design with an ability to read & interpret engineering drawings and develop designs. Experience with SolidWorks OR AutoCAD is a plus but not essential.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining & fabrication

Comfortable and capable of client management during meetings and testing (face to face OR online).

Excellent analytical and judgement skills and the ability to develop budgets and track expenditures including sub-contractors.

Excellent problem-solving skills & a creative mind set.

Strong technical writing skills with the ability to communicate information to a variety of audiences.

Bonus Skills

Direct experience with the manufacture OR use of Pipeline Pigs / Pipeline Plugs

Oil & Gas market manufacturing product experience

Knowledge of pipelines, pipelay processes and offshore operations
