Job description

Our client is a leading aerospace organization committed to excellence in engineering. As a Junior Quality Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing their quality systems to meet the high standards of the company and its valued customers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elevate Quality Standards: Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO9001 and AS9100 approvals at the current revision level, ensuring our processes align with industry best practices.
  • Process Enhancement: Collaborate with Junior and Senior Quality Engineers to manage and improve Standard Operating Procedures and the Quality Management System, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Calibration Expertise: Take ownership of the company's calibration process, working closely with internal departments and external suppliers to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Defect Resolution: Assist in product inspections, investigations, and troubleshooting of identified defects. Propose corrective actions to address root causes, including issues with internal, subcontracted, and customer returns.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Liaise with suppliers regarding queries and necessary documentation amendments.
  • Document Mastery: Prepare necessary FAIR, PPAP, and relevant defect analysis documentation, ensuring they meet required standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in programs and projects aimed at enhancing quality, such as SQCDPG/LEAN initiatives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Engage with plant staff on quality-related matters, promoting a culture of high quality and defect prevention across all sites.
  • Reporting Excellence: Generate accurate and comprehensive reports on non-conformances, daily production quality, root cause analyses, and quality trends for use by all relevant departments.
  • Supplier Assessment: Work closely with the Quality Manager to audit and inspect suppliers and subcontracted businesses, contributing to supplier selection processes.
  • Safety Champion: Ensure strict adherence to all safety rules and standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • HNC or equivalent in mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in IT for recording, analysing, and presenting statistical data.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with measuring equipment.
