Graduate Security Engineer
Phished is about to embark on an exciting project that will offer aspiring practitioners a route into the world of security. We understand that it is tough to enter the industry and competition is high, but this project will open the door for a few.
This project offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates who are passionate about cybersecurity and eager to learn and grow within a dynamic environment to gain hands-on experience and qualifications in order to push their careers in the industry forward.
We will be looking to take on 5 individuals for the programme.
Position Overview:
As a Graduate Security Engineer, you will be embedded in Phished's practitioners services, responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of our client's digital assets and systems. We understand that expertise develops over time, which is why we are excited to provide comprehensive training and mentorship to help you excel in this field via phase 1 of the programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with senior Security Engineers to analyze, identify, and mitigate security vulnerabilities and threats within our clients' systems.
Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions.
Assist in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
Monitor security alerts and incidents, investigate potential breaches, and contribute to incident response efforts.
Learn and apply security best practices and industry standards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems.
Provide technical support to clients and internal teams, offering insights into security issues and suggesting effective solutions.
Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies through continuous learning and training.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security measures that align with business objectives.
Contribute to the documentation of security procedures, guidelines, and policies.
Key Experience Needed:
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Information Technology needed.
Strong interest in cybersecurity and a desire to build a career in this field.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information.
Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude toward professional development.
A basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principles is a plus.
Prior cybersecurity-related projects, internships, or coursework is advantageous but not required.
Strong presentation skills.
