Role: Junior Sister-Outpatients
Location: Cheshire, The Wilmslow Hospital, 52-54 Alderley Rd, Wilmslow SK9 1NY
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: ( Flexibility Required to work Mon-Sat ) typically shift pattern will be either early shift 7.30am-3.30pm or Late 12.30pm-8.30pm

We’re looking for a Junior Sister to join our Outpatient Nursing team at The Wilmslow Hospital.

At the Wilmslow Hospital, we diagnose and treat a range of conditions using some of the most advanced technology in the region, from our 3T MRI scanner to our state-of-the-art laminar flow operating theatres.
 

The hospital is made up of 13 consultant rooms; a full diagnostic imaging suite; 2 operating theatres and a dedicated women’s health unit. The Outpatients Department services a wide range of specialities, within which the post holder will develop skills.


As a Junior Sister you will work as part of the Nursing team to provide effective, research-based care, taking responsibility for the assessment, planning implementation and delivery of high-quality programmes of patient care and being responsible for running procedure lists and be included in the on-call support service.
 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Take appropriate action when absence occurs or is expected.

  • Conduct continuous supervision and revision of staff resources in an effective and cost-efficient way 

  • Provide appropriate support and advice, utilising members of the MDT as required. 

  • Assisting Consultant with the various procedures.

  • Record, monitor and interpret patient’s vital signs. 

  • Report to nurse in charge appropriately when required. 

  • Attend Adult Basic Life Support/ILS training

What you’ll bring:

  • Registered Nurse Level 1 NMC Registration

  • Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures

  • Health and Safety training 

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills 

  • Demonstrable experience in working in a busy, changing environment 

  • Lifting and Handling
