This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced team of chefs and gain vital experience, preparing meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and also a varied event calendar.
You will play a key role supporting the Head Chef and Senior Chefs in the development of interesting and challenging menus for functions, events, and theme nights.
During service, you will be responsible for ensuring a chef presence on servery counters, communicating and liaising with the food service team.
You will also be welcome to suggest your own ideas to develop and improve the food and service provided.
To be considered for this role you will need an NVQ 2 and 3 or equivalent qualification, as well as level 3 food hygiene certification or other equivalent qualification, in addition to health and safety certification or other equivalent qualification.
Proven experience of managing a team and large volume catering and experience of fine dining, weddings and formal events is equally important.
Working hours and benefits
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, any five days out of seven according to the department’s rota.
You will primarily work afternoons, focusing on managing the dinner service as a shift leader. There will be the opportunity for overtime.
As St. Edward’s school is closed completely during the Christmas and New Year holiday period you will not be required to work over Christmas or New Year.
