As a result of our clients expansion plans, and continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Junior UX Designer/Researcher to be based at a busy Head Office in Plymouth.

About the Role:

The Junior UX Designer/Researcher will be responsible for continually identifying and implementing website and app improvements in conjunction with the wider Digital team. These improvements will optimise the digital experience for customers and ensure they are at the centre of our design decisions on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories and user journeys for a wide range of devices and interfaces which balance user needs, business goals and technological possibilities.
  • Support the Lead UX Designer during the Discovery phase of a project, supporting in obtaining upfront research to ensure alignment with the wider team.
  • Work alongside the Lead UX Designer in the running of the discovery sessions, creating the appropriate assets to capture requirements, these could include affinity diagrams, empathy maps and user journey maps, etc.
  • Organize and schedule user research sessions and create test plans.
  • Manage user research data repository i.e. video content, transcripts, survey answers to ensure research is accessible and visible to wider teams.
  • Develop scenarios to understand the goals / tasks of the user.
  • Create interview scripts and questions.
  • Challenge the status quo with user insight and/or data making proactive use of internal/external sources to priorities necessary user experience improvements for customers.

Person Specification:

  • Confident in facilitating user research sessions and summarizing insights.
  • A solid understanding of UX principles and methodologies. Good analytical skills to identify user behavioral patterns in large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Procientcy in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch or other prototyping tools.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript.
  • Understanding of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and testing tools.
  • Able to work as part of a cross-functional teams.
  • Track record or design and prototyping to improve customer experience.
