Job Summary:
We are seeking a multi-faceted Junior Web Developer to assist the CTO with website development, maintenance and the day-to-day operation of the enterprise's various systems. This role involves supporting the design & development of high-quality websites and applications. Ideal candidates should have a solid foundation in web development and an eye for web-design. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office mandatory and the option to work from home for the rest of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of client and internal websites.
- Collaborate with the CTO, and marketing team on various projects, including website design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code under the guidance of management.
- Help troubleshoot and debug applications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of web development trends and technologies.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving team efficiency and output.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 1 year web development experience.
- Basic knowledge of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
- Basic knowledge of Wordpress CMS.
- Basic understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
- Understanding of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as GIMP or Photoshop is a plus.
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them.
- Familiarity with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, and .Net.
- Understanding of database systems such as SQL and NoSQL.
- Knowledge of best practices in web security.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, React, or Vue.js.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £20,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
