Job Description
Due to continued growth, we have an excellent opportunity for a Junior/Developing carpenter / door engineer to join our specialist company.
Working with prestigious commercial clients in the London, with occasional support to the South East (travel paid for). We support, install and maintain all types of commercial doors.
Work will be predominantly site based in London within clean, established commercial premises with good facilities.
Daily Job Duties:
Primarily surveying with an experienced engineer to establish works required to doors/door systems with a particular focus on timber doorsets. Identifying issues and understanding how to assess/implement effective and relevant corrective works.
Assitsing remedial works / planned works to doors and door systems
Assisting with Planned Preventative Maintence works (PPMs)
Assisting door installations and associated work prep (Offloading, site storage, removal of existing doorsets/door leafs etc.)
As experience grows works will include repairs to door leafs and frames, damaged lipping, adjusting door gaps, adjusting hinges, adjusting door closers and all associated repair and install works to a high standard. Installation of door leafs and door sets, carrying doors to install locations, removal of existing doors etc. Understanding and repair / installation of ironmongery and operating systems including Door Handles, Locks, Hinges, Closers, Signage etc.

Requirements:
- Any experience of Carpentry, particularly second fix
- Must be competent and efficient using a tablet / mobile phone for data entry with sound skills in typical software such as word, excel etc.
- Must be able to be security cleared
- Able to work independently and part of a team.
- Able to work OOH if required I.E typical wortks are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm but some doors can only accessed on a Saturday or after 5pm
- Practical person with good interpersonal skills, great attitude / time keeping and wishing to learn and improve their manual skills / carpentry skills.
- Able to work primarily in London (City and Westminster) with company funded travel by train / public transport.
Salary: 25,000.00- 30,000.00 per year experience dependant
