We are looking for a reliable and dedicated kennel & Cattery Assistant to work in our busy, successful boarding kennels and Cattery, working within our small, friendly team. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a boarding kennels and Cattery.
Full, clean driving licence essential due to our rural location.
Requirements include being confident and comfortable interacting with cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds. Working efficiently as a member of our small team and with the initiative to work alone as needed. Good time management and organisational skills are essential. Maintaining good customer relations and providing a friendly and professional service. The ability to work under pressure. A genuine love and passion in caring for animals is essential.
General responsibilities include:
Cleaning and preparing kennels and cat units
Exercising dogs off lead in a secure grass paddock
Preparing meals and feeding
Interacting with customers
Taking and managing bookings
Answering phone calls
Processing payments
Grooming (such as brushing and bathing)
Administering medication
Monitoring animals and reporting any issues to management to ensure animals welfare
Odd jobs during quieter periods.
Previous experience in animal care would be preferred, although not essential.
Due to our location own transport is essential.
This is a physical job which requires working outdoors in all weathers.
The position will require working weekends, bank holidays and holidays as required.
Salary negotiable, depending on experience.
