Key Account Manager - medical / pharmaceutical / chemical or similar regulated industries

My client is looking for a Key Account Manager with a background in medical / pharmaceutical / chemical or similar regulated industries to manage their existing customer base in the UK and Ireland and optimise sales revenue in addtion to developing new business.

This is a full time role, home based and with regular but short term travel in the UK, Ireland and occasionally Europe and further afield. You need to be within the East Midlands to maintain strong contact with the UK facilities by attending team and customer meetings.
THE ROLE:
The role will include:
- Understanding the technical and service offering and building relationships with the existing customer base at all organisational levels.
- Developing and maintaining longer term relationships with prospects in order to understand their needs and propose value based solutions.
- Managing the existing customer base delivering excellence in customer service, identifying and capitalising on opportunities for additional revenue streams and growth in line with company strategy.
- Mapping markets, capacity, identifying emerging solutions / issues, competitor capability etc. and communicating these to relevant parties internally.
- Contributing to the creation of annual sales budgets and strategic sales planning.
- Developing strong working relationships within the company at all levels.
- Ensuring all required technical, contractual and operational issues are managed to the customer's satisfaction to ensure effective and smooth onboarding of new customers.
TO APPLY:
We are looking for strong Key Account Management experience, a strong focus on adding customer value and the ability to develop new business in a strategic manner.
You should have experience of selling higher value, contract-based services to industrial clients, ideally in a regulated sector e.g. chemical / scientific / pharma / medical or related.
It is highly likely that you graduated in a scientific or technical area and can demonstrate you ability to sell to technically fluent customers in a confident and assured manner.
You will be able to build long term relationships and work with longer sales cycles whilst maintaining interest, enthusiasm and initiative.
You should be able to operate autonomously on a day to day baseis but as important is that you can work effectively with distributed teams nationally and internationally as well as colleagues locally.
