Your role

We are currently recruiting for a Key Operative based at Carn Hatchery.

The Key Operative works as a member of a team of hatchery operatives, reporting to the management team. Effective liaison, team working and interaction with other operatives and supervisory staff is essential.

The job is performed mainly in a comfortable hatchery environment (16oC +) and involves extensive periods standing. The employee is required to operate effectively; processing, packing, boxing, labelling and counting product as required. It is imperative that the employee is aware of health and safety regulations and adheres to them. The Key Operative is required to oversee that the hatchery operatives effectively carry out manual tasks and chick sexing with due attention to welfare and quality.

The rate of pay is £12.97 per hour.

The hours of work are Friday- Tuesday

Fri – 12pm/2pm – 6pm/8pm

Sat – 6am – 6pm

Sun – 6am – 6pm

Mon - 12pm/2pm – 6pm/8pm

Tues - 12pm/2pm – 6pm/8pm

The successful candidate will be required to be part of an oncall team on a rotational basis.
