Kitchen Assistant

Job Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic temporary festival staff to join our amazing team for the Edinburgh fringe festival this August! We are based in Summerhall which is a large arts venue hosting many events over the fringe period. We will have hundreds of people every day coming through our doors where we will offer food, drink, coffee and cake!

This position is temporary and will be from end of July until the end of August 2024.

We will have training in the last week of July before the festival starts to ensure we have a smooth running team for the festival starting!

Previous kitchen experience is preffered.

Responsibilities:

- Keep the kitchen clean and tidy at all times.
- Abide by food hygiene standards.
- Help our chefs with basic food preparation and storage.
- Help restock our cakes, sandwiches and salads.

- Assist with any other jobs that may be required to allow a smooth festival period.

Experience:

- Previous experience in a professional/commercial kitchen is preffered.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and team work skills required.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities and work patterns.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 weeks

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
