Kitchen Assistant

We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic cook for Café Modern 1 at the Gallery of Modern Art .

Café Modern 1 is 100 seater, self service café within the Gallery of Modern Art on Belford Road Edinburgh. We are much loved by our regulars for our location and salads, soups, hot food and home baking.

The emphasis is on fresh, tasty food prepared daily, everything in our kitchen is made from scratch.

This is a full time position –- 5 days from 7, which will include weekend work.
Main Responsibilities 

The right person should have previous experience catering and be used to working in a fast paced, busy kitchen environment.

Daily duties would include assisting the chef with preparing soups, salads and main courses with general kitchen duties as and when required
The Ideal CandidateThe right candidate should be able to demonstrate;

· A hard working and reliable attitude

· Good kitchen practice, some knowledge of food preparation and ingredients but training will be given

· Ability to prioritise and multi task

· Good understanding of English, both written and orally
