We are looking for a dedicated Cafe Assistant to join our team in a vibrant community setting. The ideal candidate will offer professional customer service, maintain high levels of efficiency and effectiveness, and hold a certificate of hygiene. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our cafe and requires someone who can manage stock levels, handle sales transactions, and ensure the cafe maintains exceptional standards of cleanliness and safety.
Day to Day of the role:- Serve hot and cold food to a diverse community.
- Manage daily shopping and ordering supplies as agreed with the Site Manager.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the cafe, including cleaning cookers, sinks, table tops, and appliances.
- Securely lock away all equipment and stock after use.
- Collect and record income, balance till and cash, and report wastage and stock levels to the Site Manager.
- Ensure all appliances are switched off or left safe at the end of the shift.
- Perform washing up duties and maintain kitchen hygiene, including defrosting and cleaning the fridge.
- Conduct stock control and rotation as directed by the Site Manager.
- Change till rolls and ensure any faulty equipment is reported promptly.
- Food Hygiene Certificate is essential.
- Experience in a similar role within the hospitality or catering industry.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a busy environment.
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanour.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage stock levels.
- Competence in handling sales transactions and balancing cash.
