The Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa is a privately-owned high-profile Welsh 4 Star Country House hotel with 52 rooms, two extremely busy Restaurants and Two AA Rosette. We host a large variety of special occasions such as weddings, corporate events, celebrations etc. The hotel is uniquely located alongside the Snowdonia National Park, overlooking iconic Lake Vyrnwy and forms part of the 24,000-acre RSPB reserve attracting visitors from all over the world who come to simply relax or to sample a wide variety of outdoor activities.
We have a great opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen brigade with cleaning duties. This is a key role working on behalf of our guests and working with other team members.
Main duties include:
· The operation of pot-washing machinery.
· Carry out general cleaning as directed to include sweeping, mopping up, washing up, emptying of rubbish bins and boxes ensuring placement in the correct containers, and ensuring bin area is kept clean and tidy.
· Maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards.
· Ensure the correct PPE is in place and guidelines are adhered to.
· Observe COSHH guidelines when handling hazardous substances and comply with all aspects of Health and Safety requirements.
· Report any maintenance and, or, hazard issues to the supervisor on duty.
What you’ll need:
· Previous kitchen experience in a similar role is preferred but we are happy to provide full training
· Keen and enthusiastic to develop your skills and gain experience in an exceptional catering environment.
· Knowledge of Basic Food Hygiene (Training will also be provided)
· Positive attitude
· Good communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
· A natural team player

This is a permanent, full time role with typical hours of 8am-3pm / 3pm – 11pm with some flexibility, working 5 days out of 7 to include weekends and busy periods such as Bank Holidays etc. There will also be some split shifts.
