We are searching for organised, energetic kitchen staff to join our team. Kitchen team members are responsible for assisting with food preparation and ensuring the kitchen and storage areas remain clean at all times.
To be successful as a kitchen team member, you should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask whilst ensuring attention to detail. Top candidates will be able to perform well within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
You will receive holiday pay as standard together with a monthly share of tips split amongst every team member against hours worked. You will have the opportunity to be added to our pensions scheme after 90-days. All Monterey Jack's team members have access to our online training academy in subjects covering all areas of the food and beverage industry, including licensing and food hygiene.
Team Member Job Responsibilities:
- Cleaning work stations, cooking equipment, dishes and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations
- Washing, chopping, shredding, and grating ingredients for subsequent use in menu production
- Sweeping and mopping floors, as required
- Assisting with the unloading of deliveries
- Storing ingredients according to industry food safety regulations
- Assisting with the monitoring of stock and date labelling
- Reporting all damaged or faulty equipment to the kitchen manager
Team Member Person Requirements:
- Prior experience in a similar position desirable
- Level 2 Food Hygiene desirable
- Willingness to learn essential
- General knowledge of food safety procedures
- Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and team working
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to work shifts, particularly over weekends, and on public holidays, as needed
