This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and pragmatic engineer to join the trading team that builds client-facing/OTC platforms at an award-winning, tech-savvy algorithmic trading firm in London.
Offering a huge amount of autonomy, this role has a business-wide impact, responsible for the mission-control panel of one of the largest trading systems in the world (~$300bn/day). Your focus is to provide clarity on the trading system: what it is doing and how it's performing at any given moment. To do this, you'll design and implement reliable software, collaborate to understand users' requirements and get to grips with different trading teams' workflows.
The successful candidate will be using Kotlin day to day, but previous experience isn't required - just a willingness to learn and fluency in one or more OO language(s).
Requirements
- 3-6 years' professional experience (experience with high-throughput distributed systems would be ideal)
- Fluency in Kotlin is a plus, but any OO experience and willing to learn Kotlin is fine
- Solid experience working with algorithms and writing efficient code
- Skilled in writing automated tests & reducing complexity
Nice to Have
- Familiar with low-garbage programming in JVM
- Skilled in network programming
- Knowledgeable about web technologies, especially HTTP and Websockets
