Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and experienced KS2 Teaching Assistant to provide support to a child with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Pontefract. This temporary position offers an opportunity to make a real difference in a child's education while gaining valuable experience in a supportive environment.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a child in upper Key Stage 2 with SEMH needs.
- Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning activities.
- Implement strategies to support the child's emotional regulation and social development.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to create and implement individualized support plans.
- Monitor the child's progress and provide feedback to the teacher and SENCO.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably in a KS2 setting.
- Strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning and behavior.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and support their emotional well-being.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
- Enhanced DBS check (Teaching Personnel can assist with this).
