Overview:
Teesside University and Scott Bros are seeking a motivated graduate to deliver a Knowledge Transfer Partnership.

The company partner, Scott Bros Ltd are a waste management company who are focussed on recycling 100% of their construction waste This includes through the creation of artificial soil which now requires a sensor platform to be developed which will enable intelligent soil carbon monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) of the soil. The role is to work within a project team to utilise AI and IoT technologies with a view to creating a commercial Digital Remediation Service.

The appointed candidate will have access to a generous training budget tailored towards their personal development, access to industry leading technology and supervision from a leading multidisciplinary academic research team from Teesside University.

This position is initially for a 30 month fixed term contract, employed by Teesside University but working at company partner premises day to day.

This position forms part of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funded by Innovate UK. It’s essential you understand how KTP works with business and the University, and the vital role you will play if you successfully secure a KTP Associate position.

Requirements:
1. Masters level qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Data Science or closely related subjects which can be applied to an environmental science context.​

2. Demonstrable knowledge of AI/Generative AI/Data Science.

3. Demonstrable experience working in research groups in the field of IoT, Connected Technologies, Sensor Networks and/or AI.

4. Experience of working on research or industrial projects, especially in computer science, AI, and or Generative AI-related projects

5. Strong knowledge of end-to-end IoT solution development.

6. Ability to work both independently and within a team setting.

7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply creative thinking to find effective solutions.
