If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Analyst to join our vibrant team in Edinburgh, EH14 4AP.
As a Laboratory Analyst, you will be responsible for preparing and analysing samples for our clients using various instruments like GC, GC/MS, ICP/OES, HPLC/UV/ECD, IC, UV, and others. You will meticulously report analytical results and conduct cross-checks as necessary, all-in line with our lab's operating procedures. As part of the wider team, you will also handle routine laboratory support tasks such as general housekeeping, cleaning apparatus, and maintaining equipment. It's essential to adhere to our company's quality system, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards (UKAS Accredited).
As a Laboratory Analyst we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- Hands on practical experience working in a commercial lab
- A relevant scientific qualification is desirable but not essential
- Experience of running GC and GC/MS instrumentation is desirable but not essential
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Able to work well within a team or alone
- Excellent time management skills
- Experience of working efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Punctual, reliable and aims for high standards in their work
- Experience of a range of ICT including Microsoft Office and databases
This role would suit someone working at SCQF Level 6.
