Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in laboratory operations? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team.
Overview & Objective:
As the Laboratory & Quality Controller, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating the safe operations of the Microbiology and Chemistry laboratories. Your role will involve managing laboratory teams, maintaining quality systems, overseeing testing procedures, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Core Duties:

• Quality & Laboratory Management System: Develop and maintain internal Quality Systems and Laboratory Management System, ensuring adherence to required standards and procedures.
• Internal and External Testing: Oversee all testing workload, ensuring tests are conducted according to established methods and reporting results to internal customers promptly.
• Talent & Skills Management: Develop talent management and competence training strategies for laboratory, quality, and food safety employees.
• Budgetary Planning & Management: Develop departmental laboratory quality budget forecasts and implement budgetary controls to meet approved budgets.
• Laboratory Equipment Maintenance: Ensure laboratory equipment is in good working condition, overseeing internal calibrations and arranging external servicing as necessary.
• Test Methods: Regularly review existing methods, perform verification tests, and introduce new methods as needed to meet business requirements.
• Lab Safety: Collaborate with the Site Manager to ensure all necessary risk assessments are in place and maintain safety documents for laboratory chemicals.
• Stability Trial Coordination: Coordinate stability trials with Regulatory departments, ensuring scheduled testing proceeds as planned.

Qualifications for the Role:

• Degree in science, food, agriculture, or related field.
• HACCP - Level 3 certification.
• Food Safety - Level 3 certification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
• Experience in biochemical and microbiological testing.
• Competencies in analytical thinking, communication, data analysis, and flexibility.
