Laboratory Manager

Are you a highly skilled Laboratory Manager with a passion for quality and accuracy? Highland Spring Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to manage our onsite laboratory and provide a service to the Company that ensures our products are tested and released for sale through a positive release system.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring our product is released for sale only when fit for consumption after appropriate microbiological and analytical testing
• Managing the laboratory with a high level of quality and technical competence including consumables stock control, health and safety, and management of laboratory budget
• Managing staff including conducting performance appraisals
• Coordinating product release, hold, quarantine, sample status, reporting, and interpretation of results
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment including calibration, replacement, and repair
• Maintaining the external proficiency testing schedule and ensure that any variance reported is investigated and suitable corrective/preventive actions implemented
• Maintaining laboratory accreditation

Requirements

You must have a relevant qualification to degree standing or substantial experience in lieu of this. You will bring expert knowledge and understanding of microbiological and analytical analysis with at least 3 years of practical experience in a microbiology laboratory.

You will be trained in HACCP, COSSH and have experience in producing risk assessments. You will also have an understanding of the bottled water obligations and detailed knowledge of CLAS, BRC, and Good Laboratory Practice.
