Laboratory Reporting Officer who has previous experience within an administrative / customer service role, preferably working within a Lab setting using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) is required to join a well-established company based in Waltham Abbey, Essex.

SALARY: £25,000 per annum

LOCATION: Waltham Abbey, Essex

TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Laboratory Reporting Officer who has previous experience within an administrative / customer service role, preferably working within a Lab setting using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

As the Laboratory Reporting Officer you will be an analytical and enthusiastic individual, working as part of the Laboratory Team.

Your role as the Laboratory Reporting Officer will have a number of responsibilities that require a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work to tight deadlines, monitor SLA’s (Service Level Agreements) and liaise with clients as needed.

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will be a dependable member of the team who has a professional and supportive attitude, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Laboratory Reporting Officer include:

•Use LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) to update and add information

•Issue reports in coalition with declaration of declared medications

•Liaise with laboratory and clients

•Monitor turnaround times in accordance with SLA

•Investigate failings relating to missed TATs, including the completion of NCRs in a timely fashion

•Central point of contact for general enquiries from customers regarding laboratory results or process

•You will be part of the Laboratory Team but have close working relationships across the operations including, Data Administration, Account Management and Quality & Compliance

•You will develop an understanding of how the laboratory works

•Updating customers on any known issues or delays that could affect TAT

•Accurate data entry

•To maintain current document procedures through regular review as defined in the Quality Management System

•Attend and participate in internal meetings as appropriate

•Communicate and coordinate with internal departments as appropriate

•Raising non-conformances, planned deviations, changes, risks and improvements as required

•Adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 requirements in testing and quality control procedures

•To ensure commitment to impartiality and confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of information

•Adhering to all policy, procedure, regulatory, customer and standard requirements relating to quality, information security and environmental management systems

•General administration, including: respond to emails, answer the telephone, opening post, scanning, copying, faxing etc

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

•Previous experience within an administrative / customer service role

•Previous experience working within a laboratory setting would be preferred but not essential

•Be able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision

•Experience in using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)

•Experience in the issuing of reports in coalition with declaration of declared medications

•Possess good time management skills

•Able to manage workload

•Excellent organisation skills

•Client focused

•Confident and clear communication skills both verbally and written

•Computer competent (Microsoft Word, Excel etc)

•Professional attitude
