SalaryChemistry / Lab Technician required to join a busy and specialist organization with head offices based in Kettering, Northamptonshire.
This is a permanent position working within a dedicated Chemical Testing Team. Hours of work will be 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and the salary will include a 10% shift allowance.
The Chemical Laboratory houses analytical equipment to include GC-MS, HPLC and LC-MS used in the testing of restricted substances and assessing the chemical properties of a range of consumer products against International and European Standards to show due diligence or to apply for CE or UKCA certification.
The role will involve:
- Routine chemical testing to standard procedures within an accredited laboratory environment
- Calculating and recording results and observations in an understandable manner
- Routine maintenance tasks on analytical equipment
- Completing and maintaining personal training records
- Working to deadlines, working independently and as part of the lab team
Applications are invited from candidates with the following skills and attributes:
- GCSEs including Maths, English and at least one Science subject at Grade C or above
- Familiar with MS Word and Excel
- A meticulous eye for detail
- Good organization and time management skills - able to work to deadlines
- Highly motivated, reliable and flexible
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Good teamworking skills with an enthusiastic and helpful attitude
- Experience of working in a test laboratory would be desirable
- Full training will be provided
