Laboratory Technician (Microbiology)

Performing of day-to-day laboratory operations including but not limited to the following:
i. Sample reception, booking in and storage
ii. Accurately performing test methods
iii. Reporting intermediate and final results to internal and external clients
iv. Equipment calibration checks
v. Disposal of Laboratory waste.
vi. Maintenance and ordering of laboratory consumables and media
vii. Preparation of samples bottles
viii. Laboratory cleaning
ix. Environmental monitoring
x. Partake in Internal and External Quality proficiency schemes
xi. Collection and transport of samples from clients and to external service providers
xii. Researching and trialling new analytical test methods, and subsequently performing validation and verification tests
xiii. Review of Laboratory documentation
