The Role

Thanks to our innovative products and great team - we are proud that the business is continuing to grow, we now have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technologistto join our Narrow Web Tag & Label Technology team based in Rochdale.

Working as part of a laboratory-based team, the successful candidate will be an integral part of a development team working on a variety of technical issues relating to energy-curable liquid inks and intermediates. Additionally, they will gain practical laboratory experience combined with opportunities to problem solve across a variety of real-world issues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Product Development - Development of new products as well as maintenance of profitable new products to meet business requirements to agreed deadlines and timescales
  • Working closely with other technical staff on the formulation and research of new and existing products
  • Application of own scientific knowledge in problem-solving situations
  • Provide updates of project progress, including regular communication with team leader
  • Technical Support - Provides technical advice, guidance & support maintaining laboratory processes, equipment, and resolution of customer issues
  • Product Compliance - Meets required Production, Quality, EHS & Regulatory policies when maintaining existing products and providing new solutions
  • Safety Commitment - Ensuring the safety of self and others


Qualifications / Experience Critical for the Job Holder

  • Minimum of five GCSEs, grades 9-5 or equivalent, with experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Proficient in use of common productivity software applications
  • Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment, preferably energy curable inks or coatings
  • Competent in the use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
  • Strong team player
  • Able to take ownership and responsibility of their work and think for themselves while being receptive to feedback to continuously improve the quality of the development
  • Hold a strong "can-do" attitude
