With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them - meaning location doesn't need to be a barrier. There may be occasions when you are required to travel to a British Gas office, but the role can be primarily based from home.
In this role you will be a part of the Strategic Planning team at British Gas who own the long-range capacity and demand plans for ~7,000 engineers across the UK. Your role will be to help shape, define and enable a customer delivery model which strikes a balance between customer service, engineer efficiency and cost. You will work closely with Field Operations, Commercial and Finance teams to ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers through our workforce.
Taking a data and insight led approach, you will build an understanding of the current workforce strengths and limitations to identify the opportunities through which we can address shortfalls, surpluses or skill mismatches that will allow us to have the right resource with the right skill at the right time.
What will you do?
- Working with planning data and models to create a consolidated view of our entire capacity and demand outlook over the next 2-5 years.
- Accountable for reviewing business strategy and progress against this on a regular basis to ensure the business is on track to meet targets.
- Optimise our capability and cost per customer across the portfolio - striking a balance between customer service, engineer efficiency and cost.
- Delivery of continuous improvement & innovation opportunities, to ensure an optimum operating model.
- Engage key stakeholders to ensure the fulfilment operating model requirements are fully understood and we can benchmark our current model against these.
Who are we looking for?
- A strong analytical background and excellent Microsoft Office skills are essential including Excel.
- Understanding of the impact of cycles, seasonality, campaigns etc. in a range of operations.
- Understanding of financial budgets and KPIs - previous experience within FP&A finance would be desirable.
- Demonstrable professional experience with modelling of large scale, complex data sets.
- Experience with databases and tools such as Hadoop, Power BI, Databricks, etc. would be desirable.
- Expert in building and adapting long term resourcing models.
