Your New Role:

We have a fantasic opportunity for a permanent, Driver/Labourer to join our Trafford account in Manchester. 

Hours: 40hr per week rota  

Location: Tatton House, 11 Caldey Road, Roundthorn Industrial Estate, Wythenshawe, Manchester, M23 9LF 

Amey and Trafford Council are working together to deliver commercial and domestic waste collections, street cleaning, grounds maintenance, highways services, bridges, road safety, street lighting and furniture, drainage, and property services. Working through locally-based teams, we support communities by helping to create better, safer and more pleasant places.

You will be responsible for:

• Performing various labouring duties / cleaning within the Vehicle Maintenance Workshop
• Assisting workshop staff when required, including occasional driving duties, collection of parts from suppliers, and delivery/collection of vehicles from repairers
• Performing all duties in a safe manner to prevent incidents, accidents, and environmental incidents with particular attention to following safe systems of work
• Reporting all near misses, incidents, safery and environmental concerns using Amey's system
• Maintaining housekeeping standards throughout the workshops
• Ensuring that all waste is handled in accordance with the company's procedures and legislation
• Ensuring that all tool and equipment checks are carried out on a daily basis and equipment is maintained in a proper working condition and any defects are reported promptly to the workshop manager

We want to hear from you if you have:

• Driving experience in a similar role
• Cat C licence holder
• Experience in vehicle cleaning and general workshop labouring
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Flexibile and adaptable
